What are the available subscription periods?

Calendar Year starting from Jan – Dec in the subscribed year.


Ordering Process

What is the ordering process?

Customers must order online via the india.myelsevier.com website. Customers will need to have the following information ready for the ordering process: 1. AICTE Member ID 2. Institution’s Primary Contact (email address, telephone number) and Address details 3. Static Internet Protocol (IP) Address(es) 4. Purchase Order Number

How do I contract with Elsevier?

You will be required to accept the terms and conditions of Elsevier’s subscription agreement online as a step in the ordering process.

How do I calculate the maximum number of users?

The maximum number of users is a sum of number of students, faculty and researchers in your institution and/or department/school.

What are the terms and conditions when ordering eBook packages?

The terms and conditions when ordering eBook packages are: 1. eBooks published between 2007-2011 only form a part of the packages 2. This offer/special pricing is applicable only for active ScienceDirect subscribers under AICTE program for the year 2015 3. Packages & Pricing is not applicable to INDEST core members (IIT’s, NIT’s, IIIT’s, IIM’s, IISER’s), Government R & D Labs, Corporations and Non-Consortium Universities 4. eBooks can be purchased with a one-time payment only. a) To have/maintain perpetual access to the purchased eBooks customers are required to maintain their current ScienceDirect subscription every year Or b) If customer terminates their ScienceDirect subscription in 2015 they will have to pay an Annual platform fee of US$500 every year to maintain access to their purchased e-books on the ScienceDirect platform. 5. For post-termination and archival rights please read the e-agreement carefully. 6. Orders by institutions can only be placed online through www.india.myelsevier.com. Customers are requested to place order only when they are ready to make payment for any package. For quotations please take a print-out of the Your Order page (before accepting the agreement and submitting the actual order) in the web-site or contact your agent. 7. Payment by institutions can only be made in Indian Rupees. Agents are involved to handle the local currency and payment terms to customers.


Pricing

In which currency are the Elsevier-AICTE packages offered?

Packages offered via the Elsevier-AICTE program are priced in US Dollars (“USD”) only.

Can I pay in Indian Rupee (INR)?

To facilitate payment in Indian Rupees (“INR”), Elsevier assigns an authorized sales agent to each Order, who will convert the USD order amounts to their INR equivalent values, based on the prevailing Goods Office Committee exchange rates.

How soon do I have to pay the invoice?

The agent’s invoice will be delivered to the attention of the Institution’s Billing contact and address details as indicated in the “Checkout” page, with a credit terms of 30 days.


Access

Is my institution eligible to subscribe to the eJournal packages?

Eligible institutions must be: -A technical (academic) institution that seeks to obtain or maintain approval by AICTE. -Offer undergraduate or postgraduate degree/ diploma courses in one or more disciplines. -Not be a university, except university departments/ schools offering undergraduate/ postgraduate courses in a discipline that take AICTE approval, provided that: -The university or its department/ school do not access ScienceDirect through an existing consortium agreement or under a direct agreement with Elsevier. -Access to the Packages will be limited to the university’s AICTE-approved department/ school only -In case the University or its department/ school accesses ScienceDirect through a consortium in future, then the university may not subscribe to packages. IITs, IIMs, IISERs, NITs, and NIPERs, Government R&D institutions, Public Sector Undertakings and Corporate R&D institutions etc. are not eligible to avail these packages.

When will I get access to the eJournals?

The Elsevier-AICTE Program commences 1 January every year, hence access for orders will begin on 1 January every year, or the date of Elsevier’s acceptance of the Order, whichever is later.

How many IP addresses can my institution have?

There is no limit on number of IP addresses that an institution can have.

How do I get access to the content of Elsevier journal packages?

Your institution will be provided access to the content of Elsevier journal packages on the basis of static IP address of your Institution and/or department/school.

Where can I access the Elsevier journal package content?

You can access the contents of Elsevier journal package on ScienceDirect (http://www.sciencedirect.com).

Is there a limit to the number of articles that we can download from ScienceDirect?

There is no limit on number of downloads on ScienceDirect platform but you’re not allowed to do systematic and excessive download as per Elsevier policies

Terms & Conditions

What are the term and conditions for journal and ebook purchases?

  • Eligible/Qualifying Institutions: Packages/pricing available only for AICTE-approved selfsupported technical institutions. Not applicable for INDEST core members (IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIMs, IISERs) or its equivalent institutions, universities and its departments, govt. R&D laboratories, private universities, public sector undertakings and corporate institutions, etc..
  • Subscription Period: Calendar year subscription, i.e. 1st Jan to 31st Dec in a respective year. Institutions will have to subscribe journal package(s) for the complete calendar year.
  • Content + Back File Access: Online access to journal articles covered in journal issues for Front List/subscribed year/current year content + back files access 2000 onwards. Online access to the content will be provided on the ScienceDirect platform and will be accessible via the institution’s IP addresses.
